Blonde Brownies

Ingredients description
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 2 1/4 C. light brown sugar
  • 2 1/4 C. flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350F and grease pan.

Toast nuts prior to making recipe and let cool.

1. Melt butter in sauce pan.
2. Stir in sugar until smooth. Let cool.
3. Sift dry ingredients. Set aside.
4. Beat eggs slowly into sugar mixture.
5. Add vanilla.
6. Stir in dry ingredients and then add nuts.
7. Pour into greased 9 x 13 inch pan.
8. Bake at 350 degrees until brownies pull away from sides about 30 minutes.

Notes
CAM - I made 4 batches of these beauties for the Ladies Auxiliary Lobster Dinner - added chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and white chips... nom nom!  Also made (a single) recipe in a half sheet pan.  The blondies were a bit smaller but more in line with what we needed.
