I must say I have been remiss over the last several years in not getting my holiday greetings to friends and family – no excuses… just seems like life has been happening at a break-neck pace and I haven’t taken the time. I have vowed that this year be different – I wanted to “touch-base” with folks and do a quick synopsis of what we have been doing, send a picture to show you that we are alive and doing well, and to wish you a happy holiday season.
Sean is 15 and a junior in high school. College hunting is taking over our vacations – but, wow, things sure have changed since I went to college! He is leaning towards engineering or physics (he comes by this naturally). Sean received his black belt in Tae Kwon Do and has mastered Spanish, French and (almost) Mandarin. Turning 15½ in February will get him his driving permit and in August he will be 16 and looking forward to his license. First trip when he gets his permit will be checking out colleges in California. Me? I didn’t have a job, I had a job, I quit the job and now Wayne and I take the dogs for long walks and try to believe we have been married 19 years this past November. Still volunteering and with a friend, teach cooking classes for the local food bank. My hair is still blond (paying good money to keep it that way) and use any wit and charm I can muster to write a newspaper column. Would love to hear from everyone – and… send pictures!! Here goes… this is what has been happening the last couple of years… we moved and downsized, still in Incline Village, NV. Wayne had a heart scare, but is doing great and is busy in retirement traveling to various continents and consulting, hiking (finishing the Tahoe Rim Trail), skiing, ski patrolling, reading and forever polishing his languages.
